Broccoli is native to southern Italy, from where it has spread throughout the world. This vegetable belongs to the cabbage family. It has a central branched stem with abundant dark green flower heads. Broccoli is grown in cool climates. Harvested by hand, taken away and pre-cooled in humid chambers on the same day of harvest, for a maximum duration of 24 hours.
